Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you,
and describe that influence.
The one person who I look up to the most, and has had a
significant influence on me, is my mom. My mother has been there for me ever
since I was born. She is the reason why I’m the women I ‘am today.
My mom is a hard working woman, with six kids, and two part time
jobs. She works very hard to support all six of her kids. She puts everyone
first before herself; she is a kind and caring person who everyone looks up to.
She is someone you would want in your life.
I look up to my mom, she influenced me to be the person I want
to be. And not let people tell me differently. She taught me to be nice and kind to
others even if they’re not nice to you. And to treat people the way you want to
be treated. However, if my mom
wasn’t the person she is today who knows what I would be like.
She also influenced me to do my best and accomplish my everyday
goals. Also to go out and chase my dreams to wherever it may take me. Without my
mom I would be lost on what to do with my dreams and goals.
Therefore my mom has influenced me in many ways on how to become
a better person, work hard, and accomplish my everyday goals. She is the reason
why I’m the women I am today. Without her I wouldn’t know what to do with my
life.

Describe a character in fiction, a historical figure, or a
creative work that has had an influence on you, and explain that influence.
Martin Luther King Jr. influenced me to not judge people on what
their race or religion is that all men are created equally, and to always treat
people with respect even if you don’t receive any respect from others.
One of the best historical figures who have had an influence on me is the
one and only Martin Luther King Jr. He influenced me to not judging people for
what their race and religion is, and to chase after your dreams like he did, and
to keep fighting for what you believe in.
Also, he influenced me to chase after my dreams like he did at
one point. He knew what he wanted and went after it, while knowing what
consequences would come upon him. Martin Luther King Jr. changed the world.
Because he chased his dreams he brought the whites and blacks together and
destroyed the segregation.
Mr. King also fought for what he believed in, even when people
thought wrong of his beliefs he did not care what people thought of him. He knew
what was right and what needed to be fixed in our country. Because he fought for
his beliefs, we hardly have segregation anymore.
Martin Luther King Jr. is a historical figure that I look up to and
that has influence me to not judge people for what they look like or what their
religion is, and to chase after my dreams, and fight for what I believe
in.

Describe a person who you think is heroic.
The one person who I think is very heroic is my grandfather Roy Swallow;
he was in the Army, 101st airborne division during the Cold War. My grandfather
served in the army for seven long years as a paratrooper.
Paratroopers have to undergo extreme training, more so than a
normal solder, to survive on long missions without much support. My grandfather
jumped in top secret locations, some were not even reviled to him. However he
knew what he needed to do without any questions. Some of the places that he had
jumped during his tour were South America, and Panama. My grandfather is very
heroic for surviving in harsh conditions while serving his country, and not
knowing what could possibly happen to him at any
moment.
Also, my papa received a few medals for his various acts of
military service and conflicts. To this day, at age 73, he is still involved in
small organizations such as the Wise County Veteran Association, and the Sons of
Confederate Veteran’s. My papa is
very heroic for still being involved in small organization involved with the
military.
Therefore my grandfather is very heroic for serving in the army
and protecting our Country for seven long years, and not knowing what could
possibly happen to him, and still being involved with the military today as a
veteran. If we didn’t have men like him, who knows what are country would be
like now.
